As I started to write this, I decided to google the definition of ‘legacy’. The first thing that came up was, “an amount of money or property left to someone in a will”. Right after that, though, is a secondary explanation that says: “The long-lasting impact of particular events, actions, etc. that took place in the past, or of a person’s life.”

When it comes to campaigns like this, I think the default mindset, at least for me, would be to categorize it under the first description. However, my hope is that the second definition actually describes the true heart behind our campaign. May the legacy we are striving for be based on the long-lasting impact of blessing college students for years to come. Our prayer is that Christian Student Fellowship will continue to be a ministry where young people in future generations truly grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and their lives are transformed.

Our desire to retire CSF’s mortgage, repair structural issues with our campus house, and invest in the safety and security of our students is not rooted in simply accruing a certain sum of money. Our desire is to be a place where college students encounter and enter into a relationship with our Holy God. I have been a part of this ministry for less than 3 months, and have already had three unbelieving students tell me “they have never met people this nice before.” We have had four students inquire about baptism, and several more talk excitedly about what God is doing in their lives. This is the legacy we want to continue.

I know there is a monetary goal of $250,000, but may the heart behind any giving be rooted in faith that the Holy Spirit is moving in our ministry. Please join me in prayer over the heart of this campaign, and for those the Lord is leading to attribute a portion of their legacy to CSF.

Currently $17,325 has been given or committed to this legacy ask. If you would like to give, contact me at ben@csfindiana.org or our previous Lead Campus Minister at bill@csfindiana.org

In Christ,
Ben Geiger
